It’s a fine hotel centrally located in the old city center of Puerto Plata. The beach is in 25 minutes of walking distance. Very simple rooms for a cheap enough price. Didn’t check the rooftop bar

For myself, I am not always happy on a beach vacation because I need plenty to keep me busy. A day or two less would've been fine, but that was not the fault of the resort.
Puerto Plata was OK. Not that much to see there. We did take the cable car up to the top of Isabel de Torres, and that was very pleasant. We also took a driver out to Carbarete Beach and el choco Park, which we enjoyed. I would not bother with Damajagua. There were perhaps 1000 people there when we went, and it was quite a zoo. For Various reasons, I ended up not going all the way up to the Falls, and I was perfectly happy not to have gone. My husband didn't care for it at all. The ride was all right, but the whole experience was not worth the effort. Too many people. Waiting in line in the wilderness is not our idea of a good time.

The town is great, the people are nice, but the hotels are in serious need of restoration and updating. I cant get over the fact that almost all the hotels on the coast there do not have proper hurricane protection, whether its shutters or hurricane resistant windows. Any direct hit by a hurricane will spell disaster for most hotels on the coast. Serious upgrading is needed on nearly every hotel.

I love Puerto Plata, the people are friendly.
I love Puerto Plata, the people are friendly. Smile and they will always respond in kind.
Be careful to not wear expensive jewelery on display as petty crime exists in less tourist areas, and cover your all inclusive band while out as you will be seen as a rich american and pestered.

I love the people of San Felipe de Puerto Plata and I love the beaches.
It is a safe place and beauty everywhere with lots to do. I love the downtown area with its many attractions like umbrella street, Paseo de Dona Blanca or pink place, Parque Central and also the many restaurants in the area. One of my favorites is El Patio de Frida. A nice casual Mexican restaurant near the downtown area and also Casa 40 is another one near by.

I enjoyed the beach, pool and serenity.
I enjoyed the beach, pool and serenity. I felt secure with the gated entry and security guard on duty. A list of shopping and dining locations screened by the owner would have been useful, but we vetured and survived. People were friendly and not too aggressive.

Facility was ok. Service was horrendous.
Facility was ok. Service was horrendous. They advertise 3 restaurant however only 1 available per day which required reservations but not available. Food was not very good and very limited options. Bar service - only draft beer and not very good. Bottle beer was additional, even President which should have been inclusive. No mini bar service! Would definitely not be back!!

We looked for a place to stay for one night in Puerto Plata, and we found this gem, the photos are accurate, and we were surprised by how big our room was. The shower was very "high tech" with hot water. There was a nice little pool in the shared area. Breakfast was very good, and hosts were very accommodating. This is also one of the only places in the Dominican Republic where we had solid WiFi.
There is a very large super market very close, and some restaurants nearby.
The great hotel staff, the charisma and love of home one in the different departments was something unique. Valentina in circle one, Franklin in the pool bar, Angelina in the buffet, warkerlin in hotel service and Mariorqui in the entertainment department. All of them were great.
I liked to see that the beach bar is open 24 hours which I had never seen in another hotel, it was something that caught my attention, also that they have food.
Everything was perfect, love the warm service, the acomodations, decoration, food, ubication. It's a perfect hotel to stay and explore the city from there.
They were very gently, and anything we wanted/needed they gave us inmediate assistance.
Very complete breakfast with many options.
The place is quite and safe.
Can't wait to come back and stay for a few days.
Definitely, highly recommended ❤️
Location, location, location. Traveling with friends and 5 young kids between us, this place offered a bargain and put us a short walk to everything we needed. We were able to see the Umbrella Street, the Pink Street, the town center, and walk to several great family friendly places to eat. Plus they provided secure parking. Excellent hot water shower!
Beautiful colonial house turned into a small hotel. Our room was quiet, had AC (but not needed despite the current hot temperature), and dark to sleep well in the night and morning. Breakfast was included and very good and served fast.
The staff was particularly friendly, especially the owner would made me practice my Spanish 😅
Staff was unpleasant and homophobic but this was my overall experience in the Dominican Republic cheated and overcharged every step of the way wouldn't send my enemy to this country I hope to never return. The moment they realize English speakers will be treated differently and mistreated and robbed every step of the way.
After 15 years of travelling throughout the Dominican Republic, this is the best place we have stayed at. Spacious yet small enough to not need a golf cart to go to restaurants and the beach. Beautiful architecture, decor and furnishings. Great food. Perfect beach. Quiet. Friendly.
Luis is an excellent host, very helpful and attentive. The apartment is perfect for the price, it was clean and well equipped. The location was also great, the apartment itself is in a quiet street but only a few minutes walk away from the town center as well as from the seafront.
The hotel is small but cute, the pools were beautirful, the room was enough and comfy, food was okey, and the beach snacks restaurant was very good. The staff polite. The night club was okey too. Weren't strick with the checkout hour.
Very well located and spacious room in a private house with amazingly helpful and welcoming owner. Access to the kitchen and common area with terrace. Walking distance to the old town and bus station.
